Congratulations!

November 12, 2008

Congratulations to Governor Jim Douglas and Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie on their re-elections. The people of Vermont have spoken and voted to return the Douglas/Dubie team to Montpelier.

Congratulations to Representative Kurt Wright from Burlington on his re-election to serve in the Legislature representing his North End district.

In this election, in the City of Burlington, 3086 residents cast their ballots for John McCain and Sarah Palin, 6882 cast ballots for Governor Jim Douglas, and 6545 for Lt. Governor Brian Dubie. In the little known campaign for Secretary of State, the Republican candidate, Eugene J. Bifano, received votes in Burlington 2239 and not one State Senate candidate received fewer than 2,000 Burlington votes, even though many did not campaign at all.

Though we are not a majority, know that there are others here who share your views.

If you are a Republican voter in Burlington and would like to get involved with the Burlington GOP to help shape our vision, run for office, volunteer, or contribute in some other way, or even just meet up with other Republicans, please contact me or another member of our Executive Board.

Together, we can make a difference in Burlington and our state.

Vice-Chair
